Met zijn 400 km uitstekend verzorgde pistes is Via Lattea, gelegen op de meteorologische grens met Frankrijk, het grootste skigebied van Itali\u00eb. Het beslaat de plaatsen Sestri\u00e8re, Sauze d’Oulx, Casana, Claviere en San Sicario. Ondertussen heeft Sestri\u00e8re zich ontpopt tot een mondain vakantieoord. Toch blijven de sterk Italiaans gekruide gerechten er relatief goedkoop. De pistes zijn erg gevarieerd en komen tegemoet aan de behoeften van elk niveau. Makkelijke glooiende trajecten zijn te vinden boven de bron van de Durance, de rivier die in dit gebied zijn oorsprong vindt. Moeilijkere lijnen zijn er tevens ook meer dan genoeg. Off-piste ski\u00ebrs kunnen hun hart ophalen op hun terrein.
